Turkey or Chicken Pot Pie

INGREDIENTS
2 packages McCormick® Turkey Gravy Mix
1 teaspoon McCormick® Poultry Seasoning
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
3 cups cubed cooked turkey or chicken
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
1 refrigerated pie crust (from 15-ounce package)
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Mix Gravy Mix, poultry seasoning, milk, water and butter in large skillet or saucepan. Bring to boil on medium heat, stirring frequently. Stir in turkey and vegetables. Return to boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer 5 minutes.

2. Spoon into 9-inch deep dish pie plate or 2-quart baking dish. Top with pie crust. Seal edges and cut several slits on top to vent

3. Bake 30 Minutes or until Crust is golden. Let rest 5 minutes before cutting.

Cinnamon Ornaments

Ingredients:
3/4 C applesauce
1C 2 Tbsp cinnamon (4.12 oz bottle)

Supplies needed:
Cookie Cutters
Drinking straw
Ribbon

Mix applesauce adn cinnamon in small bowl until  a smooth ball of dough is formed. (use your hands to incorporate)
Using about 1/4 of the dough at a time, roll dough to 1/4-1/3" thickness between 2 sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper.
Cut dough into desiredshapes with cookie cutters. make a hole at top of ornament with drinking straw.
Pace ornaments on baking sheet.
Bake in breheated oven 200 for 2 1/2 hours.  Cool ornaments on wire rack.
Insert ribbon through holes and tie to hang.

Minestrone Soup

29 oz chicken stock
1 can 28 oz crushed Italian tomatoes undrained
1 1/2 C carrots chopped
3 small zucchini cut in 1/2" slices
1 med yellow bell pepper cut into 1/2 " pieces
1 onion diced
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tsp dried marjoram leaves
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2  C uncooked rice
1/4 C rinsed Kidney beans
1/2 lb cooked sausage
1/4 C chopped fresh basil leaves

Mix all ingredients except basil in 3 1/2 -6 qt slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low heat 6-8 hours or until vegetables are tender.
Stir in Basil

Key Lime Pie

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
    2. Combine the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk and lime juice. Mix well. Pour into unbaked graham cracker shell.
    3. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Allow to cool. Top with whipped topping and garnish with lime slices if desired.

    Cooler Corn on the Cob

    Use a clean Coleman Cooler, or equivalent. Put in shucked ears of corn. Pour 2-3 kettles of boiling water over corn. Close lid and leave closed for 30 minutes.  Corn will be done perfectly!

    Tater Tot Casserole

    Ingredients:
    1 lb lean ground beef
    1 onion chopped
    1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
    1 can of milk
    1 tsp worcestershire sauce
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 bag frozen tater tots

    1 C grated cheddar cheese

    Brown ground beef and onion,  Combine with remaining top ingredients. put in 9 x 13 pan and top with cheese.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until bubbly.  Serve with vegetables

    Skillet Chicken

    Ingredients:
    1 Tbsp olive oil
    2 Carrots chopped
    1 onion chopped
    2 celery stalks cholled
    3/4 lb boneless skilness chicken breast (cut into strips)
    1 26 oz can spaghetti sauce or crushed Italian tomatoes
    4 tsp grated parmesan cheese
     salt and pepper to taste

    Heat oil in Large skillet, Saute vegetables until softened (about 10 minutes)  Add chicken and cook until opaque (about 5 minutes)  Stir in remaining ingredients and cover.  Simmer for 10 minutes, until flavors blend.  Serve over  pasta or rice










    Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

    Ingredients:
    4 C Chicken Broth
    2 C water
    2 Cooked, boneless skinless Chicken breast
     breast halves shredded
    1 4.5 oz pkg quick cooking long grain
      and wild rice with seasoning pkg
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    3/4 C flour
    1/2 C butter
    2 C heavy cream (can use 1/2 and 1/2)

    In a large pot over medium heat, combine broth, water, and chicken.
    Bring just to a boil, then stir in rice, reserving seaon pkg
    Cover and remove from Heat

    In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper and flour.  In a med. saucepan over med heat, melt butter.  Stir in season pkg until mixture is bubbly.  Reduce heat to low, then stir in flour mixture by Tbsp to form a roux.  Whisk in cream, a little at a time, until fully incorporated and smooth.  Cook until thickened.  About 5 minutes

    Stir cream mixture into broth and rice.  Cook over med heat until heated through, 10-15 minutes.

    Strawberry Pretzel Jello Salad

    Crust:
    2 C crushed pretzel sticks
    3/4 C melted butter
    3 Tbsp sugar
    Mix together and press in bottom of a 9 x 13 pan.  Bake at 350 (metal pan) 325 (glass pan) 8 minutes. Let cool completely.

    Layer 1:
    Beat-
    1 C sugar
    8 oz Cream cheese softened
    Fold in:
    8 oz Cool whip
    Spread over pretzels.

    Layer 2:
    1 6 oz pkg  strawberry jello
    2 C boiling water
    2 10 oz pkgs frozen strawberries partially thawed
    Mix jello and water until dissolved. Add strawberries and mix together. Set aside for 10 minutes. Pour over 1st layer.  Chill

    * can also do with Rasberries and Rasberry jello

    Breakfast In a Blanket

    Ingredients:
    5 link sausages, cooked
    5 eggs
    5 slices cheese
    1 pkg refrigerator biscuits

    Scramble eggs or cook individually. Press 2 biscuits together to make a blanket. Layer the slcie of cheese, egg and sausage in the center of biscuit. Fold biscuit ends up and then pull isides to center and overlap;  Bake seam side down according to biscuit package directions.

    Chex Lemon Buddies

    Ingredients:
    9 C Rice Chex
    1 1/4 C white chocolate pieces
    1/4 C butter
    4 tsp lemon zest
    2 Tbsp lemon juice
    2 C powdered sugar

    In large bowl measure cereal, set aside
    Microwave for 1 minute:
       white chocolate pieces
       butter
       lemon zest
       lemon juice
    stir, then microwave about 30 seconds longer, stir and continue until smooth
    Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated
    Pour into large plastic bag and add powdered sugar, seal and shake gently until coated

    Cowboy Eggs

    1egg per person
    1 slice of bread per person
    butter for frying bread
    cheese
    Ketchup

    remove a hunk of bread out of the middle of the slice of bread. Melt a little butter in a frying pan, then add your bread. Crack the egg into the hole you created. Fry the piece of bread you tore out also.  cook the egg to your liking, add a little cheese. add Ketchup if you like.  Enjoy!

    Inam Khan Basting sauce for Ham

    Basting sauce for Ham;;
    One cup Brown sugar
    One teaspoon dry mustard
    One cup orange juice

    I would add quarter cup honey or maple syrup, to the mixture and put pineapple rings on the ham.

    Easy Turkey Pot Pie

    Ingredients:
    1 can cream of Chicken Soup
    1 pkg (about 9 oz) frozen mixed vegetables thawed
    1 C cubed cooked turkey or chicken
    1/2 C milk
    1 egg
    1 C biscuit baking mix

    Heat oven to 400
    Stir the soup, vegetables, and turkey in a 9" pie pan
    Stir the egg, milk, and biscuit mix together in small bowl
    Spread the batter over the turkey mixture
    Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown


    Sesame Tahini




    • 2 Tablespoons sesame seeds
    • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 cup tepid water

    Preparation:

    Place sesame seeds in a blender or food processor and grind until smooth. Add sesame oil and salt. Process until combined. With the motor running, add the water in a very slow, steady stream and blend until smooth.

    Yield: about 1/2 cup 

    Bean and Cheese Burritos

    In a medium sauce pan, heat:
    1 Tbsp canola oil
    add:
    1 Tbsp roasted garlic
    1 Tbsp minced onion
    cook till fragrant, but be careful not to burn
    add:
    1 small can refried beans
    1/4 of the can filled with warm water
    mix all together,and cook till warm
    add:
    1 C shredded cheddar cheese
    when mixed together, put heaping Tbsp on flour tortilla and roll up burrito style.

    Heat small amount of canola oil in frying pan over medium heat. Add burritos and 
    cook till light brown on both sides

    Serve with sour cream and salsa

    Sunshine Chicken Salad

    Combine and chill 30 minutes:
    1 pkg dry Ranch salad dressing mix
    1/2 C mayo
    1/2 C yogurt
    1/4 C honey

    Combine in bowl:
    2 C cooked chicken cubed
    1 C celery chopped
    1 8 oz can pineapple tidbits drained
    1 8 oz cab sliced water chestnuts, drained and chopped
    1 1/2 C seedless red grapes (cut in 1/2 if large)

    Toss with dressing, and sprinkle with 
    1/2 C slivered almonds toasted

    serve on croissant rolls or plain

    Crockpot Fiesta Chicken

    Ingredients:
    4 chicken breasts or 6 thighs, frozen or thawed
    1 can black beans, drained
    1/2 bag frozen sweet white corn
    1 (15 ounce) jar of your favorite salsa
    1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 

    Directions:
    Put chicken into crock pot. Add black beans (drained),  salsa, and corn.  Cook on low for about 4-5 hours or until chicken is cooked. Once it is cooked, take it out and shred it. Return shredded chicken to the crockpot.

    30 min. before eating, add 1 package of cream cheese of cream cheese on top. Stir just before serving. 

    Serve over rice, in warm flour tortillas or as a chip dip. 

    Zupa Tuscana

    Ingredients:
    1 lb. Italian sausage, cooked and drained
    1 bunch fresh spinach, cut into small strips
    6 red potatoes, cooked and cut into bite size pieces
    1 pt. whipping cream
    1 qt. half and half
    1 can chicken broth
    1/4 cup butter
    2 tsp. basil
    salt and pepper to taste
    Parmesan cheese  

    Directions:
    Put all ingredients into large pot. Cook on medium heat until cooked through. Do not allow to boil. You can add a cup or so of milk if soup is too thick. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.

    Chicken Roll ups

    Ingredients:
    2-3 C shredded chicken
    2 pkg. crescent rolls (8 in a package)
    1 box Stove Top Stuffing
    1 8 oz. box cream cheese, softened
    4 Tbs.  butter
    6 Tbsp melted butter
    1 small onion chopped
    6 mushrooms chopped
    2-3 Tbsp dry ranch mix

    Directions:
    In frying pan, melt the 4 Tbsp butter, add onion and mushrooms, and cook till tender. Put in bowl with
    chicken softened cream cheese and ranch.  Mix together. Separate crescent dough into triangles and fill each with a spoonful of the chicken mix. Roll up and tuck in ends. Dip in melted butter, then stuffing. Place on a tinfoil lined cookie sheet. (You can freeze until 2 hours before baking at this point.) Can also place in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
    Bake 15-20 min. at 350 or until golden brown.
    *can use prepared stuffing with 3 Tbsp dry bread crumbs added to dry a little

    Baja bowl


    Prepare the following food, then layer in a bowl and enjoy!

    Beans (Refried, Black or Pinto)
    Warm them up

    Mexican Rice
    3 cups rice, 2 Tbs. taco seasoning (we like Taco Bell's chipotle), 1 tsp chicken bouillon 

    Cheese
    Grate cheddar cheese

    Chicken
    Cut chicken breasts into small pieces, cook in frying pan (with garlic, salt and pepper) could also sub with ground beef or grill breasts or thighs on BBQ

    Cabbage
    Cut cabbage into squares

    Salsa (homemade)
    3 tomatoes (chopped into medium size pieces)
    ½ green bell pepper (chopped into small pieces)
    ⅛ onion (chopped into tiny pieces)
    1 Tbs vinegar
    Salt to taste
    Mix all above ingredients together

    Tomatia Dressing
    Cut 4-5 medium tomatias into fourths, rub in oil. Place on a cookie sheet in oven pre-heated to 400 degrees. Bake about 15 minutes until a little mushy.  (For less mess, cook on tin foil)  
    Make ranch dressing using packet (can use milk with 1 Tbs. lemon or lime* juice as a sub. for buttermilk)
    Blend together in blender and store in fridge

    Reuben Sandwiches

    Rye bread
    mayonnaise
    Swiss cheese
    pastrami
    Sour Kraut

    Place rye bread on a cookie sheet (2 per person). Spread mayo on all slices. Put Swiss cheese on half of the slices and pastrami on the other half.  Place in oven. Broil until cheese is melted.  Put drained Sour Kraut on he meat side and put the cheese side on top. Serve immediately.

    Jambalaya

    1 1/2 C rice
    1/2 lb chicken
    1/2 lb sausage
    1 tsp garlic minced
    1 pkg Lipton onion soup
    1/2 C salsa
    1 C frozen corn

    Cook Rice. Cut up chicken into bite size pieces and fry with sausage.  Season with salt, pepper, garlic.  Add  Onion soup packet, salsa, and corn.  Add rice to frying pan and fry for 5 minutes.

    Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce

    4 oz Gorgonzola cheese
    2 Tbsp butter
    2 tsp cornstarch
    2 C milk
    1 pint cream
    1/4 tsp pepper
    1 tsp chicken better than Bullion
    dash sage

    Melt cheese and butter in a sauce pan.  In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch with milk and cream until smooth.  Then pour into melted butter and cheese.  Add pepper, chicken bullion and sage. stir constantly until thickened. Don't let it boil.

    Serve over noodles

    Candied Chex Mix

    5 1/2 C corn chex
    5 1/2 C rice chex
    1/2 C coconut
    1/2 C slivered almonds
    2 cubes butter
    1 C corn syrup
    1 C sugar

    In large mixing bowl, combine and set aside:
    Chex
    Coconut
    almonds

    On the stove top, melt butter, and then add corn syrup and sugar. Bring to a boil. Immediately pour over Chex mixture. Stir till evenly coated.  Pour onto wax paper to dry. Make sure it is spread out to keep from clumping.

    Apricot Chicken

    1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
    chicken breasts
    1 jar apricot preserves
    1 Tbsp oil

    Fry chicken in oil until half cooked.  Then add tomatoes and Apricots.  Cook until done.
    Serve with rice

    Cheese Cake

    Blend together:
    2 eggs
    3/4 C sugar
    1 large and 1 small cream cheese
    2 tsp vanilla

    Put into unbaked graham cracker crust. Bake @ 350 15-20 minutes till set in middle. Cool 5 minutes.

    Topping:
    Blend together:
    1/2, plus a little of a small sour cream
    31/2 Tbsp sugar
    1 tsp vanilla

    Pour over top of pie and return to oven 10 minutes more. let stand for 5 minutes. Refrigerate at least 5 hours

    Wonder Cookies

    Cream together:
    1 C margarine
    1 C cooking oil
    1 C sugar
    1 C Br Sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla

    Add:
    1 tsp soda
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp cream of tartar
    3 1/2 C flour
    mix well

    Stir in:
    1 C rolled oats
    1 C coconut
    1 C rice Krispies
    1 C M&M's or butterscotch chips

    Place rounded spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake @ 350 10 minutes

    Best ever stuffed Zucchini Boats


    Ingredients:
    3 med. zucchini halved lengthwise
    1 lb Italian sausage
    1 sm onion  chopped
    1 clove garlic crushed
    1/3 C bread crumbs
    1/4 C Parmesan
    1 C shredded Mozzarella
    Cook Zucchini in boiling water for 10 minutes. Drain, then scoop out insides leaving 1/4" shell. Mash insides, drain well.  Put boats in shallow baking dish.  Remove sausage from casings, brown 5 minutes. Add garlic and onion, and saute until meat is cooked through and onions are tender.  Stir in Zucchini and bread crumbs. Spoon into boats.  Sprinkle with cheese.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes

    Sweet & Sour Pork


    Ingredients:
    1 lb pork tenderloin cut into 3/4" cubes
    flour
    3 Tbsp oil
    1/2 C pineapple juicegar
    1/4 C brown sugar
    1/3 C vinegar
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 1/2 tsp soy sauce
    1 Tbsp corn starch
    1- 1 lb can crushed pineapple
    1/2 green pepper diced
    1/4 C thinly sliced carrots

    dust meat with flour, and brown in oil. Remove. Pour pineapple juice, vinegar, sugar,salt and soy sauce into pan. bring to a boil. Moisten corn starch with a small amount of water. stir in pineapple mixture. cook until clear and thickened. Add meat and remaining ingredients.  Cook until tender. serve over rice.

    Manicotti


    Ingredients:
    1/2 lb ground beef
    1 clove garlic crushed
    1 C cottage cheese
    4 oz shredded Mozzarella cheese
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 C mayonnaise
    12 manicotti, cooked and drained
    1- 16oz jar spaghetti sauce
    1/4 tsp dried oregano
    parmesan  cheese

    Brown beef and garlic, drain.  Mix next 4 ingredients in bowl, stir in beef.  fill each manicotti wth filling. Place in baking dish. cover with sauce. sprinkle with oregano and cheese.  Cover with foil. Bake in 350 oven for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10 minutes longer

    Teri's Chicken Enchiladas

    Ingredients:
    1- 16 oz can tomatoes
    1- 4 oz can green chilis, rinsed and seeded
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 C sour cream
    2 C chopped chicken
    1 -3oz cream cheese softened
    1/2 C finely chopped onion
    3/4 tsp salt
    12 6" corn tortillas (try to get fresh)
    1 C shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese

    Place undrained tomatoes, chiles, and 1/2 tsp salt in blender. Blend till smooth. Add sour cream and cover and blend just till combined.  Set aside.

    Combine Chicken, cream cheese, onion and 3/4 tsp salt

    Spoon chicken mixture on tortilla and roll. Place in baking dish. Pour tomato mixture over top. cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or till heated through.  Remove foil, sprinkle with cheese and return to oven till cheese melts.

    serves 6 small servings





    Cool Ranch Chicken


    boneless skinless chicken breast
    southwest Chipolte salad dressing by Hidden Valley Ranch
    Big bag of Cool ranch Doritos crushed

    Cut chicken into tenders or small pieces, dip in salad dressing, then into Doritos.  Put into baking dish, and bake for approx 25-35 minutes at 375 (time depends on how small your chicken is cut.)

    good with mashed potatoes and vegetables

    Aebleskivers

    Ingredients:
    3 eggs
    2 1/4 C flour
    1 1/2 tsp B powder
    3/4 tsp B soda
    1 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
    1/3 tsp salt
    2 C buttermilk

    Separate eggs. Beat whites. Mix yolks and all other ingredients to make a smooth batter.  Fold in whites.  Cook in shortening melted in Aebleskivers pan over med heat.  When browned on one side, turn with fork.  when taking out roll in sugar or powdered sugar.

    Rice Pudding

    Ingredients:
    1/3 C rice
    2 1/2 C milk heated
    1 C whipping cream (whipped)
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/4 C sugar
    4 Tbsp chopped almonds
    cook rice and milk in heavy pan on low heat, stirring occasionally. Add salt, sugar and vanilla. let cool several hours in fridge. fold in whipping cream and almonds. serve cold

    Mystery Pie

    Ingredients:
    3 eggs
    1 C suger
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp B powder
    1 C chopped pecans or walnuts
    20 Ritz crackers rolled fine
    whipped cream

    Beat egg whites till stiff, but still moist.  Add sugar, vanilla, and b. powder gradually. Beat till thick but not grainy.  Fold in nuts and cracker crumbs.  Pour into a greased 9" pie pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.  Cool, top with whipped cream

    Granny's Hamburger Casserole

    ingredients:
    1 lb hamburger
    1 large onion minced
    3/4 C celery
    salt and pepper
    1 can chow mien noodles
    1 can cr of mushroom soup
    1 can cr of chicken soup
    1 C uncooked rice

    Brown hamburger, onion, & celery. Cook rice. mix meat, rice& soup. put in baking dish. Spread chow mien noodles on top. Bake 30 minutes at 350. 
    Serves 8

    Granny's Cornbread

    melt:
    1 C butter
    stir in
    1 1/3 C sugar
    4 eggs
    Blend well
    Combine
    2 C buttermilk
    1 tsp soda
    Sift together:
    2 C cornmeal
    2 C flour
    1 tsp salt
    combine with wet ingredients, stirring lightly with fork, as little as possible, just till combined  Put in buttered 9 x 13 pan and cook at 400 for

    Green Bean Casserole

    Combine in Bowl and set aside:
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    3/4 C milk
    1/8 Tsp pepper
    1 tsp soy sauce
    stir in
    1/2 can French's French fried onions

    Drain
    2 cans french cut green beans and put in casserole dish
    pour soup mixture over top and stir to combine.top with rest of French fried onions and bake 45-50 minutes at 350

    Warm Pasta Salad

    chop up any combination of:
    Broccoli
    Carrots
    Cauliflower

    Cook together with pasta putting in pot in order of how long it takes to cook so that all will be done at the same time.  When done drain and put in bowls or on plates while still hot.  Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and lightly coat with Ranch dressing.  Serve warm

    Maple Syrup

    Combine in a saucepan:
    4 C sugar
    1/2 C brown sugar
    2 Tbsp corn syrup
    2 C water
    Heat till dissolves or till boil, then add:
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 tsp maple flavoring

    Buttermilk Pancakes

    Combine and whisk together:
    3 C flour
    3 Tbsp sugar
    1 Tbsp B powder
    3/4 tsp salt
    1 1/2 tsp B soda

    In separate bowl, beat together:
    3 C buttermilk
    1/2 C milk
    5 eggs
    1 tbsp vanilla
    Combine wet with dry ingredients, and mix just till combined. Cook on lightly oiled pan.


    Apple Crisp

    peel and thinly slice approx 12 apples with combination of following apples:
    gala
    fugi
    honeycrisp
    granny smith apples
    red delicious
    put in 9 x 13 baking dish
    (add 1 Tbsp cornstarch if apples real juicy)

    pour
    1/2 C orange juice over apples

    sprinkle over:
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 C sugar

    Topping:
    2 C oats (best if not instant)
    1 C butter (cut into rest)
    1 C brown sugar
    1/2 C flour
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp nutmeg

    Bake at 325 25-35 minutes

    Pumpkin Bars

    Beat together:
    2 C pumpkin
    1 C oil
    2 C sugar
    4 eggs

    Add:
    1 Tsp B powder
    1 Tsp B soda
    1/2 Tsp salt
    2 Tsp Cinnamon
    2 C flour
    1 tsp vanilla
    mix and spread in greased jelly roll pan.  Bake at 350 25-30 minutes. Frost with cream cheese frosting

    Frosting:
    8 oz cream cheese softened
    1 Cube butter softened
    1 tsp vanilla
    4 C powdered sugar
    beat with mixer until smooth

    Porccupine Meatballs

    Combine and mix well:
    2 Lb lean ground beef
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    3/4 C cooked and cooled rice
    2 eggs
    make into balls and put in 9 x 13 pan, cover with 1 can tomato soup diluted with approx 1/4 C water. Bake at 350 45-50 minutes.

    Saucy Meatballs

    Saucy Meatballs
    Mix together:
    2 lbs ground beef
    3 eggs
    2 envelopes onion soup mix
    1 C oatmeal or bread crumbs
    make into balls and put into 9x13 pan, pour sauce over and bake uncovered at 350 45-50 minutes.

    Sauce:
    1 bottle chile sauce
    1 can jellied cranberry sauce
    1 C brown sugar
    1/2 C water

    Serve with Rice

    dough:
    mix in large bowl-
    1/4  C oil
    1/2 C Sugar
    2 T Salt
    2 1/2 C hot water
    add:
    3 heaping C flour and 
    2 T yeast
    mix well, and add
    approx 3 C flour
    should be sticky, but not stick to you or the counter when done kneading.
    Put in lightly oiled bowl, and let rest covered at least 15-20 minutes. Tear off dough, roll in ball and flatten. Roll out very thin and put sauce on 1/2 , leaving 1/2-3/4" around edges dry to seal. top with cheese and whatever toppings you want.  fold in 1/2 and seal edges.  Put on greased cookie sheet or parchment paper and brush with egg.  bake at 375 15-18 min. till lightly browned.
